Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari was at the centre of the party´s election strategy in the recent Assembly polls in the state. With Tiwari at the helm when the BJP won the corporation polls in 2017 and all the seven Lok Sabha seats in 2019, the party was banking on the Bhojpuri star to draw the Capital´s Poorvanchali vote to help it return to power in the Capital where it has not been in government for over 20 years.
